WHAT IS A CHIMNEY FIRE?
When highly flammable Creosote buildup accumulates inside your chimney, it can lead to DEVASTATING CHIMNEY FIRES. During a chimney fire, temperatures inside the chimney often exceed 2,000 degrees. This not only may destroy your chimney and it can also set your house on fire! a Chimney fire creates an enormous air draft intake and will shoot flames onto your roof several feet high.. Chimney fires can also be caused by heat escaping through cracks in mortar joints, and other structural defects from rain damage, earthquakes, etc. and then spreading to the wood structure.
